Motor Drive Group M.In-Focus Trigger Cord
Summary | Main Characteristics | Notes - Related Units |
This cord automatically triggers the Motor Drive or Winder when the
subject is in focus. It can either be used with (combination 1) the OM-30 (OM-F) and
any
manual focus Zuiko lens, or with (combination 2) any OM body and the 35-70mm/F4 Auto Focus zoom lens. The main body of the M.In-Focus Trigger cord (the part with the red Standby Button) is inserted in the Remote Control Jack of the Motor Drive or Winder. The other side of the Cord goes either (combination 1) into the M.In-Focus Control Jack on the left hand side of the OM-30 body or (combination 2) into the M.In-Focus Control Jack of the 35-70mm/F4 Auto Focus zoom lens. If the OM-30 is used with the 35-70mm/F4 Auto Focus zoom lens, either of these Jacks can be used.. The M.In-Focus Trigger Cord is activated by pressing the red Standby Button. When the Standby Button is pressed and rotated clockwise, the standby (ready) state is locked. To unlock, rotate it anti-clockwise until the white buttons are in opposite position, and release. |
Combination (1) - OM-30, Motor Drive or Winder, any
manual focus Zuiko lens and the M.In-Focus Trigger Cord. Set the Motor Drive or Winder to either Single or Continuous, and set the Mode Lever of the OM-30 to either Auto or Manual. To take shots of non-moving subjects: press the Standby Button, and rotate the focus ring. When the subject is in focus (as indicated on the focus screen and with the In-Focus indicators of the OM-30), the Motor Drive or Winder is activated. To take shots of moving subjects: set the focus ring at a distance where the subject will pass (pre-focusing) and hold or lock the Standby Button. At the moment the subject enters this point (reaches the preset distance) and is in focus, the Motor Drive or Winder is activated. Combination (2) - Any OM body, Motor Drive or Winder, the 35-70mm/F4 Auto Focus zoom lens and the M.In-Focus Trigger Cord. Set the Motor Drive or Winder to either Single or Continuous, set the Mode Lever of the OM body in the desired position, and set the Mode Lever of the Auto Focus lens to either Single AF or Continuous AF. Lock the Standby Button of the Cord in its standby (ready) state. The lens is triggered by pressing one of its Power Focus Buttons (it doesn't matter which). At the moment (Single AF) or as long (Continous AF) the subject is in focus, the Motor Dive or Winder is activated. When the AF lens is used with the OM-30 and the Cord is connected to the camera body, the lens is activated by half pressing the Shutter Release Button of the camera. |
Early versions of Motor Drive 1 or Winder 1 did not have a Remote
Control Jack and can therefore not be connected. The OM-707 AF, OM-101 PF and OM-2000 do not accept a Motor Drive or Winder. |
